Horizon Legacy Law

I built the Horizon Legacy Law website from scratch, creating a professional and trustworthy digital presence for a Southern Utah firm specializing in estate planning, wills, and trusts. Unlike a simple template setup, this project started with a deep competitor analysis to identify gaps in the market. I presented three distinct design concepts to the client, allowing them to choose a direction that best represented their "family-first" values. The final site was built on a custom, lightweight CMS structure, making it incredibly easy for their non-technical team to update content, add blog posts, and manage client inquiries without external help.

Key Obstacles Faced and Overcome

Challenges

Real growth comes from solving hard problems. When projects get complex or deadlines get tight, the focus shifts to smart time management and staying organized. This approach turns pressure into progress, ensuring that the final result is always high-quality and reliable.

Here are some challenges faced:

  • 01The client needed to stand out in a competitive legal market where many firms looked identical.
  • 02Building trust is crucial for estate planning, so the design had to feel approachable yet highly professional.
  • 03The client wanted full control over the design direction but wasn't sure what would resonate best with their 55+ target audience.
  • 04The internal team had no technical skills, so the backend needed to be zero-maintenance and extremely user-friendly.
  • 05The site needed to clearly explain complex legal topics (like revocable trusts and probate) without overwhelming visitors.
Approach to Overcoming Challenges

Solutions

Strategic planning, clear communication, and adaptability enabled efficient problem-solving in project management. By breaking tasks into steps, collaborating consistently, and staying flexible, challenges were overcome, ensuring success and continuous improvement.

Here are some solutions Implemented:

  • 01Conducted a thorough analysis of local competitors to create a unique brand identity that highlights their "flat-fee, jargon-free" approach.
  • 02Designed a clean, warm UI with large fonts and clear navigation specifically tailored for an older demographic.
  • 03Created and presented three completely different design prototypes, giving the client the power to choose the perfect look before development started.
  • 04Built a custom, simplified CMS dashboard that allows the team to edit text and images with just a few clicks—no coding required.
  • 05Structured the content into clear, bite-sized sections ("Estate Planning Made Simple") to guide users effortlessly from learning to booking a consultation.
